Keep PIM to a Minimum

PIM, (Passive Intermodulation), results in interference and a reduced signal that can be devastating to your network.  Cables are often one of the largest PIM pain points and our Low PIM, RF Coaxial Cables help keep PIM to a minimum.

Quality Components, Quality Results

Our Low PIM cables are assembled from the highest quality materials to ensure the highest quality results.  The inner conductor is copper clad aluminum which is surrounded by a polyethylene foam that serves as the dielectric.  The dielectric is encased with a corrugated copper outer shield that in turn is wrapped by a low-smoke, halogen-free, fiame retardent cable jacket.

In short, lots of quality components result in high quality results; results you need in telecommunication, fixed wireless, and any number of applications that utilize RF signal.

How Low Can You Go?

PIM is measured in negative dBc, (decibels relative to the carrier), and the lower the number, the better.  Some consider around -130 dBc to be acceptable PIM levels in a cable, but at Gamma we consider the standard to be -155 dBc, and we don’t let cables ship unless they beat that standard.

Cable Test Results Applied to Label

Tested & Labeled

Every Gamma Low PIM cable is tested before shipping with the test results being printed to a label and placed directly on the cable.  The printed test results include the PIM testing results as well as return loss (or VSWR) results.

Superflex vs. Standard

Our Low PIM cables come in two variations, both of which offer fantastic PIM and VSWR results.

The Standard cable, (sometimes referred to as annular cable), comes in a 1/2 inch size and in many ways has become the telecom industry’s standard cable, (hence the name).  Superflex cable, (as the name indicates), is a much more flexible cable that makes it easier to work with and is available in 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch sizes.

Regardless of which cable you choose both Standard and Superflex deliver exceptional results.

Tri-Metal Albaloy Connectors

Tri-metal albaloy has some remarkable characteristics that make it an ideal choice for RF coaxial cables, the largest being that tri-metal albaloy is extremely resistant to corrosion and tarnishing. Additionally, like silver, tri-metal albaloy is non-magnetic, which means it avoids a number of intermodulation issues and won’t become a source of PIM down the road.

All of Gamma Electronics are assembled with tri-metal albaloy connectors.  Learn more about tri-metal abaloy connectors here.

RF Coaxial Cables with Weatherproofing

RF Cables Perfectly Paired with Weatherproofing

Every one of our low PIM cables comes with weatherproofing perfectly matched to the cable and connector to provide the ultimate level of weather protection.

We’ve tested each cable and weatherproofing combo to IP68 levels of protection, meaning we have actually submerged the cables and weatherproofing in more than 1 meter of water for over 30 minutes without it allowing water into the connection.  It’s safe to say we feel pretty confident that you will love how well our cables and weatherproofing withstand the elements.

What’s even better?  When you buy one of our low PIM cable kits you save up to 30% off what it would have cost had you purchased the cable and weatherproofing separately.
